P&N Flight and Charter staff will take care of fueling the aircraft. Just ask the person at the front desk, and they will fuel the plane for you. Self-serve 100LL and Jet-A available 24/7/365. 87 Auto available during business hours or by prior arrangment only.

Obtain dispatch and flight bag/keys from dispatcher on duty located in the FBO building during business hours.

Make prior arrangements with airport management for after hours access.

Park the plane anywhere on the tarmac or in the tie-downs, which are south of the tarmac. Check in with dispatcher on duty to return the aircraft and flight bag/dispatch/keys.

Local Flight Planning Tips

local hazards

3 lighted towers 2 nm NNW of field. See sectional. Nuclear power plant 12 nm WNW of field, co-located with the town of Palo. Avoid overflying the plant, especially if you are not in communication with Cedar Rapids Approach Control.


Be careful of obstacle turbulence when approaching 35. Treeline directly south of threshold. Caution east-west treeline on approach to Runway 35. Caution power lines and four-lane roadway on approach to Runway 17.

Be aware of instrument approach corridors to KCID, especially off the ends of Runway 9/27 at KCID. Expect light to moderate regional jet/business jet traffic INVOF KCID during the day.

Back taxi on runway is authorized. Pilots are strongly encouraged to self-announce all back taxi operations on 122.7 (CTAF/UNICOM)

Run up authorized on the ramp. Check behind your aircraft for personnel or vehicles before running up.

optical illusions

Nonstandard runway lights are spaced approximately 100 feet apart. 24 foot-wide asphalt strip is roughly centered between runway lights. Landing lights strongly encouraged for night operations to aid in distinguishing paved portion of runway from unpaved portion.

preferred pattern entries

Left patter Runway 17/Right pattern Runway 35 for noise reduction. Avoid low flight to the west of the field.

runway slope / runway surface

Runway is 24' of asphalt in good condition located in the middle of 100' of turf in good condition. Entire 100' width is authorized for operations, but be careful of aircraft back taxiing in the grass.
