At Nationwide Aviation, we are focused on providing first class personalized flight instruction. Our philosophy on training is based on the immersion method: where you completely immerse yourself in the subject for complete understanding and correlation. Having your instructor for an entire day allows you to train at your pace, fast or slow and also allows us to offer instruction at a discounted rate. This is how flight training should be and we look forward to helping you achieve your goals.
The FBO building has free WIFI access, a flight-planning computer, DirectTV, small conference Table for flight training, and snacks for purchase.
On field fueling is located at the main FBO building at the North end of the field. All major credit cards are accepted, and pilots can contact our “888” number for the current fuel price. If you would like the fuel filled only to the “TABS” (17 gallons per side) for your rental, to conserve payload, please contact us ahead of your rental and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
If a flight instructor is on-duty and available, the aircraft will be relocated to the main ramp for your rental. When scheduling your rental, inquire as to the location for pick-up at your rental time.
If a flight instructor is not on-duty or available the aircraft location and instructions for obtaining the aircraft key will be distributed once the pilots checkout has been confirmed.
Typically the aircraft can be returned to the main ramp when a flight instructor is on-duty and available. Please, however, confirm this with the flight instructor when picking up the aircraft at your rental time.
When returning the aircraft when a flight instructor is not on duty or available the aircraft can be returned to the hanger. Instructions for hanger/aircraft key location will be distributed once the pilots rental has been confirmed.
Fuel reimbursement is available up to the current price per gallon at KWEA.
If mechanical issues arise away from KWEA please call (888) 459-8440 or Trevor Hall directly at (940) 390-0532 and we will be happy to rectify the issue as soon as possible.
The hanger has 3 tie-down locations (each wing & tail), as well as a pitot tube and prop cover. Please insure that these items are attached to the aircraft so it is then ready for the next customer.
When renting the aircraft for the first time, one of our flight instructors will meet you at the aircraft to insure you are comfortable with moving the aircraft in and out of our hanger.
Aircraft will be full (25 gallons per side) when normally renting the aircraft. If you would like the fuel filled only to the “TABS” (17 gallons per side) for your rental, to conserve payload, please contact us ahead of your rental and we will do our best to accommodate your request.
Traffic pattern at KWEA is standard to both runway 17 and 35 with a TPA of 2000’ MSL. Runway is 2892x40 (with 220’ displaced threshold RWY 17). At night airport has limited runway lighting and does not have a beacon on the field. Local CTAF is 122.7 and KWEA is referred to as both “Parker County” and “Weatherford” on this frequency.
Flight following can be obtained with “Regional Approach/Departure Control” on 135.975.
Lake Weatherford is located just north of KWEA and is the best way to locate the airport when inbound to the field. The lake is depicted on the VFR sectional chart. Additionally the airport is located directly on the banks of Interstate 20, which runs perpendicular to the field.
TFR’s can pop up over AT&T Stadium (Dallas Cowboys) and The Ballpark in Arlington (Texas Rangers) on game days. Both of the stadiums are located approximately 30 NM East of KWEA. Be sure to consult a flight briefer when your flight path is in this area for the most current TFR information.
Advise on CTAF when taxiing on the runway.
Aircraft run-up can be performed while holding short of runway 17 or 35.
KWEA is a privately owned, public use airport and is a fly in community. Hanger homes are located on the West side of the field, therefore please refrain from excessive touch & goes/landings at the field, especially during early morning or late at night.

Trees are located at both ends of the runway. Additionally there are a number of towers located around the airport (please consult the sectional chart for location and height)
